CN¥200M opening weekend, No. 2 debut
In its opening weekend of July 17–19, 2026, All Wishes Come True! quickly crossed CN¥200 million (about US$28–30 million) and debuted at No. 2 at the Chinese box office, behind Stephen Chow's Kung Fu Soccer.
Details
Variety reported a No. 2 debut with US$30.6 million in its opening weekend (the July 17–19 frame) and a US$39.6 million cumulative total since launch, behind Kung Fu Soccer's US$73.7 million second weekend.[1]
Animation Magazine's global box-office round-up likewise noted that the comedy-adventure opened at No. 2 in China, "quickly surpassing the 200 million yuan milestone" on its way to US$30.6 million over the weekend.[2]
The Global Times reported that the film stormed into cinemas on Saturday and quickly crossed the 200-million-yuan (US$29.5 million) threshold in its opening weekend, opening with an 8.3 Douban score — temporarily the highest-rated of all new releases in the 2026 summer season. On Chinese social media, viewers praised its Chinese-style aesthetics and hard-hitting traditional martial arts sequences, calling it a sure "dark horse" of the summer film season.[3]
The Hollywood Reporter observed that Kung Fu Soccer "faced markedly stiffer competition in its sophomore weekend" from All Wishes Come True — an animated tentpole from Pearl Studio, "the Beijing outfit formerly known as Oriental DreamWorks" — which brought in US$30.6 million (RMB 207.8 million) over two days for an early total of US$39.6 million (RMB 269 million) including previews.[4]
