A follow-up report published on August 8 added that the film's cumulative box office had exceeded 1.3 billion yuan (about 193 million U.S. dollars), earning it a place among the top ten highest-grossing animated films in Chinese box office history; the report noted that the film redefines what it means to be "immortal" — true immortality lying not in invincibility or eternal life, but in compassion for all and an unwavering commitment to goodness — and that the film is set for release in multiple countries and regions worldwide.[2]

The August 7 report said data from an online box office tracker indicated that China's 2026 summer box office, including pre-sales, exceeded 8 billion yuan (about 1.19 billion U.S. dollars) as of Friday, with single-day takings surpassing 100 million yuan (14.8 million U.S. dollars) for 27 consecutive days; over 120 Chinese and international films have hit theaters this summer.[1]

The August 8 report put the summer total at more than 8.12 billion yuan (about 1.2 billion U.S. dollars) by Friday night, with the season's top three earners being the domestic hits Kung Fu Soccer and All Wishes Come True! along with the imported blockbuster Spider-Man: Brand New Day; China's total box office for 2026, including pre-sales, surpassed 23.7 billion yuan (about 3.51 billion U.S. dollars).[2]
