A film scene draws crowds to a 1,500-year-old temple
CGTN reported that the Chinese animated film All Wishes Come True! is bringing more visitors to one of China's most unusual landmarks: one scene in the film, where the immortals Zhongli Quan and Lyu Dongbin first meet, was inspired by the Hanging Temple (Xuankong Temple) in Datong, north China's Shanxi Province, and the temple has attracted growing numbers of visitors since the film became a hit.[1]
About the temple
Built about 1,500 years ago, the Hanging Temple is famous for its wooden halls built into a steep cliff, and is also known for bringing together elements of Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism in a single temple, making it a unique part of China's cultural heritage.[1]
